Supreme Court Rules Companies Can Deny Service When It Violates Their Faith

Major ruling is certain to have ripples deep into the US economy


Today the US Supreme Court announced its 6-3 ruling in favor of a Colorado graphic designer who declined customers who wanted her to design gay wedding websites because gay marriage violates her deeply held faith.


The State of Colorado and the 3 liberals on the Supreme Court all argued to force this designer to engage in designing gay couple websites or risk being stripped of her company and ability to earn a living.


But the court’s 6-member majority ruling reaffirmed long-held constitutional principles of First Amendment freedom of speech.
