Small Businesses Say Trump’s First 100 Days Should Focus on These Things

A new survey of 80,000 small businesses in the Freedom Economy by RedBalloon and PublicSquare found that small business owners want President Trump to prioritize border control (90%), cut government spending (78%) and taxes (70%), and fight inflation (61%).

These findings come as nearly half of small business owners say their businesses will not survive another Biden term.

Control border

90.2%

Cut gov spending

77.6%

Cut taxes, boost economy

70.3%

Root out deep state

69.0%

Fight inflation

61.1%

End Ukraine war

48.5%

“It’s been a difficult 3 years, and a lot of these businesses are on life support,” said RedBalloon CEO Andrew Crapuchettes, who pioneered the use of labor market data in business analytics.  “Small business owners believe inflation will be higher for longer, so their top priorities for Trump is to fix the border to stop the billions spent on illegal immigration and to rein in other government spending inflation drivers.”

Whatever happens this November, small business owners have made their voices clear. They will back whichever candidate they believe not only shares their priorities, but will take action on them as well.

Methodology:

The May 2024 Freedom Economy Index survey sampled opinions from a universe of over 80,000 small business owners from throughout the United States. The survey fielded from April 30 to May 10, with 754 respondents and a 4% margin of error at the 95% confidence level.
